This coastal section marks the exact spot where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef.
Located about 140 kilometers north of Cairns, this area offers untouched beaches and dense mangrove habitats. The coastal road is fully sealed up to Cape Tribulation, making it easily accessible for standard 2WD vehicles.
Plan to spend your time walking the designated boardwalks and enjoying the coastal views. Swimming at the beaches is strictly prohibited due to the presence of saltwater crocodiles and marine stingers.

This pristine beach features ancient rainforest foliage spilling directly onto the white sand. You can walk along the shoreline and observe where two UNESCO World Heritage sites meet. Do not swim in the ocean here under any circumstances. Saltwater crocodiles and dangerous marine stingers are active in these waters.
45 minutesLooped track
This looped walking track winds through lowland rainforest and dense mangrove habitats. The raised path protects the fragile ecosystem and keeps you safe from snake bites. Read the interpretive signs along the way to learn about the 135-million-year evolution of the forest.
15 minutesScenic viewpoint
This high vantage point offers clear views over the Daintree River estuary and the Coral Sea. It is the best place for wide photos of the coastline. Stop here on your drive north, shortly after you cross the Daintree River Ferry.
